I can handle all all styles of training from the beginner to the competitive athlete.  I take the approach of looking at your body and movement and then coming up with a plan that eases you into a fitness routine.  In the beginning stages I make sure you can wake up and be able to go to work the next day but also know you have gone through a great workout, while progressively making each session harder.  If you're looking at weight loss, strength gains or developing speed and agility, I can help you get into shape quickly and safely.  My focus is on form and technique while making sure you laugh and have a good time working out.  Any questions - Please feel free to come and ask me should you see me in the club.

I’m 46 years old and a mother of three.  I have been dedicated to the fitness industry for over 12 years.  Following the birth of my third child, twelve years ago, I decided to try a cardio kickboxing class to help me get in shape and focus on my health and wellness.  I loved taking the classes, the discipline and the way I felt after only a few short weeks.  After realizing how much I loved cardio classes, I decided to set a goal to become a certified trainer.  A few years of hard work and dedication helped me reach my goal when I became an AFAA certified trainer, and a Madd Dog Spinning instructor.

Training, fitness and a constant exercise really made me feel complete.  I decided that I wanted to share the way I felt and with others around me. Today I teach cardio kickboxing, weight resistance training, body sculpting, step aerobics, boot camp, stability ball and spinning amongst others. 

Hobbies like running, walking, bicycling, reading and art complete my healthy lifestyle.

Tammy Gruber is the owner of A Wellness Life, a Pilates, Personal Training, and Nutrition studio inside of Club Newfit, Newton, Ct.  Tammy Is a N.A.S.M. certified personal trainer, certified Pilates instructor, and certified Spinning instructor.

Tony Pereira

Tony Pereira

Tony Pereira has worked in the fitness industry for 7 years and lives in Southbury, CT. Tony joined the Club Newfit team 3 years ago when he came from Planet Fitness in Shelton,CT where he was a senior general manager for their personal training staff. Tony is a certified ISSA personal trainer here at the club and works with members of all ages. Tony is also a CIAC certified high school football and baseball coach at Pomperaug High School where he has worked for the past 6 years. He has a great passion for working with his athletes and serves as the defensive coordinator at Pomperaug and has helped coach the team to several state championship appearances and a win in the 2004 MM state championship. Tony is also an assistant baseball coach where he helped coach the school to the LL state championship in 2010. Aside from having a passion in guiding his athletes and clients to goal achievement, Tony is also a Graduate Student at Central Connecticut State University where he is majoring in Physical Education and Health. Whether it’s conducting children’s classes, athletic performance classes or working with his clients, Tony is a constant fixture here at the club.
